Having worked with thousands of weight loss surgery patients, we know that planning ahead is one of the keys to long term success. When the healthy choice is super easy AND delicious, it is easy to get it right.
We also know that including a regular breakfast is a key step in keeping on track. Breakfast is a pretty busy time in our homes, so planning ahead and having breakfast prepared the night before makes getting out of the house much easier!
Our Overnight Oats with Berries and Greek Yoghurt is such a handy recipe to make ahead.
Overnight Oats with Berries and Greek Yoghurt
Makes 4 serves
½ cup oats
3 tablespoons of good quality protein powder (we stock our favourites in our online store)
1 grated apple
1 cup milk
½ cup water
1 tablespoon chia seeds
4 tablespoons almond meal
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Combine ingredients and divide between four jars. Cover and refrigerate for up to four days.
Just prior to serving, top with 2 tablespoons of fresh or frozen berries and 1 tablespoon of Greek yoghurt.
Nutrition information per serve: kilojoules 1010, calories 240, protein 9g, fat 10g, saturated fat 2g, carbohydrate 27g, fibre 4.5g.
